Get out and walk or volunteer this week-end to fight cardiovascular disease!
Cardiovascular disease is the number one killer of all Americans. ’In fact, someone dies from CVD every 38 seconds!” says The American Heart Association. It is responsible for more deaths in women than all forms of cancer combined. In infants, the most common cause of infant deaths from birth defects are caused from congenital cardiovascular birth defects.

The Event Coordinators could still use Volunteers!! Here is information from the Volunteer Committee:
Friday, May 18th [5-10 Volunteers]1 pm – 5 pm; This day will be primarily fun set-up and much less involved than Saturday, the day of the event. You’ll get to be involved with the behind-the-scenes crew getting ready for the big day!
Saturday, May 19th [10-15 volunteers]5 am – 8 am; For you early morning birds, who like to get an early start, please join us in the final moments before the event while we put together all the loose ends in anticipation of our 10,000 walkers. Things will be fun and busy as we prepare and then you will be done just in time to enjoy the festivities or participate in the walk! We promise coming to help out this early will pay off when you get to see all the fun things we have coming for the festival!
8 am – cleanup is complete (usually by 1pm); [50-75 volunteers] Those who volunteer for this shift will get to be in the midst of all the action and help out with making sure the event is as fun as possible for both you and our walkers! Help our photographers, vendors, stage managers and more run the show, or be a smiling face and cheering voice for all our incredible walkers in a great community space!
